Jai Saraswati (and Statehood for the People of DC)

When your day starts like this.

I went to an in person yoga class today for the first time since before the pandemic started. I was alone in choosing to mask and distance—but the ventilation was good. I really enjoyed being there. In conversation after, a couple of people whom I have missed seeing quietly volunteered to me that they were fully vaccinated. I appreciated that.

This full moon, the yoga tradition would have one honor one’s teachers. They don’t have to be formal teachers and certainly do not need to be gurus.

As part of my walk in the neighborhood, I joined a March on the Capitol advocating for health care for all/Medicare for all. What does it mean to have mercy or to be merciful? I am quite certain inaction is inconsistent with mercy.

I communicate with the Murtis when I am out on the garden and also with the plants and other living beings. The volunteer squash are outrageously happy at the moment. On the balcony, Crow has discovered the strawberries and the fig tree.
After washing up the dinner things and making a sweet bread with one of the about to be overly abundant butternut squashes, I stepped out on the catio to be greeted by the nearly full moon. The thunderstorms this afternoon were modest, but they cleared out some of the smoke.
