    Signs Around Town

    ByElizabeth July 6, 2013July 6, 2013

If those who are “other,” who are “misfits” elsewhere, create an inclusive gathering for themselves where they become normalized are they then still misfits?

Found Exhortation (and Happy 4th of July)

    ByElizabeth July 4, 2013July 4, 2013

What could be more quintessentially American and also generally incompatible with authentic yoga teachings than the desire/exhortation to express one’s individuality? How can we really practice yoga and still honor this inbred privileging of the individual? Are there ways of melding principles of radical individuality with philosophies that say enlightenment is a surrender of that individuality that would serve to harmonize and expand rather than just provide fuel for inner conflict?

    Your input most welcome.

    Found Question

    ByElizabeth June 30, 2013June 30, 2013

What does it mean to be ok? How often do we say that we are ok for the purpose of avoiding saying how things really are at the time?

These questions are ones I ponder on a not infrequent basis.

    Untitled

    ByElizabeth June 29, 2013June 29, 2013

“Please wait just a moment,” I asked my friend as we were heading home after a morning at the museums and a delicious lunch out.
“What,” he asked, “another heart cloud?”
I did not need to answer; he could just look at where the camera was pointed.
