Sadhana
I did not go to the women’s march. I was attending the first day of the second weekend of a two-weekend yoga teacher training for those recently post-trauma.
I did meet others on their way with a good reminder about power.

Bearing Witness
I took formal leave from work at midday today to bear witness to those who rearranged the rest of their lives to speak to their elected officials and others about their convictions in this democracy. I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate their efforts.

Sadhana
The chant this evening was “no war, yes, peace.” It is not enough, if things are going to change, just to say what we don’t want. We need to offer and work towards alternatives.

A Thanksgiving Gathering
A friend, who is on the board of directors, invited me to help set up and serve Thanksgiving dinner at the Latin American Youth Center. I took this afternoon off instead of tomorrow afternoon and helped out. I met several inspiring people and many kids who like cookies.
There’s a lot of art on the walls and some poetry. This reminded me of how grateful I am for what I have and where I am in life.
