This afternoon I heard a neighbor on one side of my house out shoveling–including the sidewalk in front of my house. I went out to thank him and say hi. And I gave him an extra jug of eco-friendly snow melt for the steep front stairs of his house. 
Today I have some hope. I keep on, though, regardless of hope. That is the practice.
