Discussion of physical aspects of yoga (on and off the mat)
Since arriving in Santa Fe late this afternoon, I’ve encountered many of the Hindu pantheon, almost more prevalent than who is indigenous or long settled here, but that’s probably just due to the first places I walked. Fitting perhaps since I’m mostly on this trip to bathe in the yoga practices.

One of the aspects of mind-body centering and the yoga asana teaching I’ve gotten from that lineage, is that the first question you ask yourself is whether you are safe–usually a given if attending a yoga workshop.
If you’re not safe, then you should be addressing that and not going further towards some particular practice exploration. Everyone deserves to be safe enough to explore mind-body-spirit.

I started working before it was light and then took some time to stretch and move when it started to get light, and the sky was all sorts of pretty colors.

On my way to a weekend in Philadelphia to attend a weekend yoga asana workshop with Desiree Rumbaugh, I left the house an hour early and stopped at the people’s Filibuster.

I was working late, but comfortably in my beautiful study at home, when the light shifted in such a way that I was called to move quickly out onto the sleeping porch. This is what I paused to witness before going back to my desk:
