I hardly glance twice at the squares of sidewalk that are unmarked. But those that have fissured attract my eye–the beauty of the patterns and to the potential need to step more carefully.

There were moments of bright sun in between the showers and encroaching cold.
I’m cleaning out a drawer that had held an odd collection of pieces of paper with writing on them. Most of them I am tearing up into little pieces to feed the worms (who last night arrived alive, though dehydrated and groggy and are now set up as directed).
The first new okra is crawling with ants, but that’s ok because they are eating up the baby aphids.
I’m sure there will be one today, too, though it might not be where I can see it.
