4th Floor Galleries, National Museum of African American History and Culture–the weather having been forecast to be unpleasant for walking about, I got a same day ticket for late afternoon by getting on line a little after 7am.

Last week the supplemental electrical panel necessitated by living in “this Old House” was installed. The existing panel did not have room for the solar panels to be connected.
Today, the DC Building inspector came, inspected, and gave approval (conditional on contractor sending photos of the roof). Last step is to get PEPCO to come and change the meter. That could take a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, there is no rain in the 15-day forecast. Best start doing the rain dances.

The changes in my neighborhood over the past several years take some getting used to; there are so many new businesses opening up where it was once abandoned and dangerous to walk. This fabulous mural was on my walk to 2nd and M Streets, NE to the new flagship-sized REI at the U-Line building to get new hiking boots. On my extended walk home to break in my new shoes, I bumped into neighbors outside the Atlas Theater.
The air was dusty because we are in such dire need of rain, but the trees still were vibrant with color.
