Just as I by complete coincidence was making ghee, the mail carrier misdelivered my neighbor’s Time magazine.
The debates will no doubt continue. We hunger for simplistic rules that apply equally to all. So much easier than conscious and responsible moderation.
This sounds like things I have heard in meditation and yoga classes and in various memes that have gone around over the years. Never understood what it meant. I expect it’s best if what it means to have an inner goddess is left each to their own.
As one who has long been intimate with anxiety, my best remedy is to take Krishna’s advice to Arjuna to heart and get up and do something.
If you don’t get the hoped for results, at least you tried. If there’s success, you’ll be a part of it. If you do nothing, all you have is your anxiety.
Second batch of postcards about to arrive. I don’t know if it will get out enough of the vote, but it feels like it helps create positive momentum.

And remember to pause for beauty.
On the first day of my staycation, I slept late, joined a good friend for a big bowl of spicy noodle soup for lunch, went to the Freer and the Sackler, and then to see the Star Wars movie. I did read a work email or two. Now some restorative asana practice before bed. I will miss these murtis when the galleries are closed for renovations.
One of my yoga teacher trainers used to say that though he loved all of his students, that did not necessarily mean that he liked all of them or everything about them.
Recognizing and honoring universal worthiness and connection — which I think is essential to our getting along in this crowded world of ours –does not mean that we will not have preferences both innate and trained.
