It is a fine thing to reminded to love, but for the most part fruitless to be commanded to love a certain thing or person.

I’m cleaning out a drawer that had held an odd collection of pieces of paper with writing on them. Most of them I am tearing up into little pieces to feed the worms (who last night arrived alive, though dehydrated and groggy and are now set up as directed).
Why shouldn’t you care? Enjoy having freedom on the internet to read this blog, among others? To learn about what is happening in the world and to explore and expand your learning? To connect on Facebook and Twitter? Think 300 million people shouldn’t be censored? Consider signing the petition to Dell and HP to tell them they shouldn’t install special blocking software in computers for the China market.

When I was walking about yesterday, I thought I could not bear to leave the exuberance of DC’s spring. Only my house sitter would be able to watch all the new seedlings coming up in my garden. I would miss the last of the cherry blossoms. Then I thought that it would be spring where I am going–and no doubt gorgeous in its own way.
