I was attending a workshop this weekend. Someone made another offering to another manifestation of Siva.

Mahashivratri
On this mahashivratri , the darkest moon of winter, the night to delve into our dreams, into the rhythms of the wild dance of existence, experiencing the fullest emptiness . On this night, too, the goddess Uma (aka Parvati) incarnate as feline WHO IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE BED appears to have been reunited with Siva Nataraja.

Included in the asana today at Cyndi Lee’s day of workshops at Willow Street Yoga was one of my very favorites: anantasana–the serpent couch of Vishnu. Nataraja, dancing his wild dance, was watching. People outside went about their ordinary and extraordinary lives.

Visiting Friends at the Freer and the Sackler Before They Close for Renovation
On the first day of my staycation, I slept late, joined a good friend for a big bowl of spicy noodle soup for lunch, went to the Freer and the Sackler, and then to see the Star Wars movie. I did read a work email or two. Now some restorative asana practice before bed. I will miss these murtis when the galleries are closed for renovations.
