Discussion of physical aspects of yoga (on and off the mat)

I went to visit today. Is it wrong for me to so delight in the grace of this sculpture—when it is so far from where it was originally created (Tamil Nadu, India)?

This morning I again joined “Living Classrooms DC,” which I found through the “Sustainable DC” volunteer website, removing invasive shrub honeysuckle. It is only one of the invasive species threatening the balance of health on the islands. Just because a nursery sells an invasive (for example English ivy) and you see it around, does not mean it is healthy to plant. Please check and do not plant any invasives.

One of these days, I intend to add some words, along with the pictures. I’ve been practicing and studying, and integrating and, public health permitting, would like to start offering more regular practices.

It’s a call for these times.

There was a joyous celebration at the US Supreme Court this afternoon to celebrate the historic appointment of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. May this nation heal.

I found myself thinking this morning of the poster from when I was a child that said, “war is not healthy for children and other living things.” I wrote it on the front stairs and then asked myself the question, how do I contribute to the causes of war?” And so that I am not only asking what I must change or stop doing, I also ask myself, how can I foster peace?
