Be Here Now (Var.)

Every day we begin as yoga practice, we begin for the first time from the place we are in. We have another opportunity simultaneously to critically assess and more optimally align and accept how we came to be in that particular moment on the space-time continuum.

The sign may be temporary, but this is a state that I would want to be as long-lasting as possible. Yoga, well-practiced and studied, provides us with ever more resilience–one hopes a lifetime’s worth– to handle the wild vagaries of existence with as much grace as is possible.

My friend asked me tonight whether I’d gone over to the Supreme Court to see if there were any more heart-shaped clouds during the oral arguments today. I was occupied mostly by errands on my too brief lunch time walk (work was very busy) and didn’t get all the way over to the Supreme Court, but yes, there were more today when I was within a few blocks of the Court:
For example, I am not concerned with the risk of being filled up by Satan (that’s Satan with a capital “S”) because of practicing yoga. But I am deeply concerned that the people quoted as making such warnings are seeking or are in positions of power. Thanks to my friend D. for sending me the link to this article.
It is when we believe only one way is the way for all that we become subject to the perils of tyranny and divisiveness.
Nonetheless, as the yogic philosophers tend to teach, each individual is most likely to find depth of knowledge, experience, and conviction sticking to a single path.
Which way is this way?
