Found Exhortation (Ineffective)
Have you ever noticed just how ineffective and indeed counter-productive is the exhortation to “cheer up?” Being told to cheer up, be happy, etc, when one is feeling sad or out of sorts can just make one feel worse.
The exhortations that work are those that remind us of that for which we are grateful or that which we love, and those the remind us of or call us to the practices the result of which is to alleviate suffering.

Are you accurately aware of your limits? Do you sometimes blow past your limits to your detriment? Do you ever enlarge your idea of your limitations in a way that cuts off your ability to live as fully and joyously and generously as is truly possible?

Down-regulating
It’s true that I’m still reading the news and signing petitions and sending comments on regulations, but otherwise, it’s good to have several days to take good care–and to practice my Spanish.
The daily routine for the week: meditation by myself, walk on the beach when it gets light with fellow yogis, breakfast, yoga practice (mostly functional movement exercises rather than traditional asana), lunch, quiet time, more practice, dinner, early to bed.
