The Maples Continue Glowing Red
This is an especially fine year for them. I was thinking about what it means to trust that winter will end and the trees will mostly bud , leaf, and fruit again starting in the Spring.

For a few precious days each year, the light in the house and underneath the Japanese maple in front of the house glows red.

Snowy Day Walkabout
Mostly I stayed inside baking, and I also went to a holiday party with delicious food and wonderful music-making. It was good to get some fresh air and exercise in between.
