I was in this instance able to connect the object with its proper home and alert the right person to return it there.

I formally took leave today.
First, I went to a dance practice led by Margot Greenlee (BodyWise Dance), which was a lab for exploring techniques to enable those of a wide range of mental and physical capacities to express themselves through movement. Very inspiring.
In between dancing and going to the Phillips Collection to see The Warmth of Other Suns: Stories of Global Displacement exhibit, I paused on the grounds of the Capitol and gave witness to the climate strikers.
I meditated on the bus.
Flowers Around Town (Anemone in a Tree Box)
In the presence of the grand, such as the cherry trees in full bloom, it is easy to overlook the small things.
I am entranced by the small garden offerings, the loving care and desire for beauty manifested by the plantings of perhaps even a flower or two when all someone has is a couple of square feet of sidewalk space to plant.
So too with our human gifts. How essential to happiness and connection it is to recognize the gifts and contributions to love and community by those who are not extraordinary, not the powerful or the famous.
