A Beautiful Day
I gave the state of the world some of my efforts and attention, but mostly I enjoyed a free day. I took a pleasant flow/yin class at Be Here Now on 8th Street, walked down to the river and then extended my walk in a long loop through the neighborhood to admire the fall foliage. Nests have become visible as the trees lose their leaves.

Tapas, Sadhana, Demons, and Us
In the yoga stories, all of those who work, who commit to the arduous practices get boons, including the demons. If it looks like the demons are winning the day because of their efforts, the only way to change the game is to commit and surrender more deeply to our own work and practice.
Daniel Webster Statue (and Siva tattva)
On the column that supports this bas-relief and a larger than life standing portrait of Daniel Webster, is engraved: “liberty and union now and forever one and inseparable.” Kind of sounds like a description of the absolute consciousness, the one self, though that was probably, mostly not the intent.

Is a mark of privilege. I know that and give from there.
