Some of the paradigms of yoga practice do not resonate with my iconoclastic, Quaker, feminist, progressive self, one of which is the idea of prostrating oneself at the feet of the teacher. I do, nonetheless, choose to study with teachers whom I respect and love.

On this day when billions contemplate an idea of resurrection, I find myself thinking that when too much energy is being consumed with continuous destruction, it is hard for resurrection or renewal or rebirth to manifest.
I spent most of my waking hours today working. I did meditate and stretche and walk to and from the office for a meeting. I ate well. On my walks I enjoyed the outrageous blooming everywhere. Enough to count myself happy, I think.
How do you live to lessen the causes of war? I believe this memorial is meant to glorify soldiers and their grit. I find it a call to wage peace.
