Mudra of Calm Abiding
I was taught that placing your hand on your thigh palm facing down is the mudra of calm, abiding. I personally find it soothing. So, apparently, does Maitri, who demonstrates another variation.

I spent both Saturday and Sunday morning in a meditation training with Cyndi Lee. I also attended Reggie Hubbard’s afternoon yoga practice today (celebrating Prince’s birthday).
Now, more than ever, is the time to engage and to perform the focused and consistent self-inquiry and self-nurture to support lifelong action.

I took this photo earlier in the evening before failed attempts simultaneously to photograph the cat on my lap and the impeachment proceedings on streaming video. I think of all those working so hard and so bravely. For some time, I sat paying attention and also meditating–my personal variation on a Quaker practice of having someone present sit and hold all in the light while the business of the meeting is being conducted.
And I also made an extra donation.
