At one point, during this walk with a friend at the National Arboretum, four hawks were circling. I wondered what was on the ground. It was a gloriously temperate day.

I met a crane enjoying
An early dinner.

Today’s harvest somehow wanted to be shaped into a flaming heart. The pest control technician came for the quarterly visit. I gave him a sack of beans for him and his wife to have for dinner.

Hops beginning to blossom. I hadn’t realized one can also eat hops shoots.
