Easter Walkabout (Congressional Cemetery)
I took a long walk this morning on this holiday weekend. My walk took me past DC General and DC jail on then to Congressional Cemetery before looping around to Barracks Row and Eastern market.

Temple Bell
A friend photographed me as I was about to ring the bell because he was surprised I would choose to make an extra noise.
But it was a quiet, clear-toned bell, and it is said that ringing a temple bell invites the gods and warns away the demons.

Appreciating and Also Being Concerned
It was beautiful today at the Arboretum, and I was glad to be there. I also noticed, along with other signs of impending drought, how low are the water levels for this time of year. I have been working on making my garden more water efficient.
State of the Garden (and Lila)
I meant to post a picture of yet another heart-shaped cloud (this one a rosy pink at twilight). The memory card that had the picture, though, insisted on being reformatted and dissolving the data. One minute there, the next second dissolved–play (lila) like Shiva. I offer you instead this picture of the African violet again in full bloom. It is a plant happy to be where it is.
