Reflection at the Reflecting Pool
I took a few moments in the middle of my work day to go outside to walk and then to sit quietly.
I found it rather tranquil to watch the gentle waves on the reflecting pool on the west side of the Capitol building.
The reflecting pool was then a better tool for inner reflection when it wasn’t reflecting an image of what is outside of and next to it–as glorious as it is when it is offering up a picture perfect reflection of the Capitol dome and its surroundings. Hmm.

Winter Gardening Fun
It was a day of meetings and conversations and emails. I’m in the middle of a major project, and it feels demanding. I’m being careful to take good care of myself.
On the walk home, just as the last glimmers of daylight were fading, I could feel the temperature dropping. Any last warmth was being blown away by the wind. I was bundled up and had my computer with me with the intention of working from home. The sky was like a black opal–dark blue-grays with fiery orange streaks. The walk (chanting the Maha mrityunjaya mantra for some of the way) shifted me out of work mode.
I came home to my newest gardening venture. The worms will arrive separately; they will be held for me at the post office to keep them out of the cold.

Signs/Objects Around Town (Dirksen Senate Office Building)
Because the Senate, like any group sharing an office building, would need a little love if the fire department is wanted.
Come to think of it, the Senate needs a little love all the time; I like this heart being here to call in loving energy. Those who are working to care for those most challenged in our society, to protect the environment, and to seek fairness and justice for all need support to keep serving. And with an influx of love, perhaps those digging their heels in for greed, power, corruption, and violence, might be influenced to make a shift.
