Dia de los Muertos










She was banished to the outskirts of town by the patriarchy, but the outskirts are nicer than the center of town these days (not actually sure whether the latter is true).
She is unassuming on the surface and secretly wild, and she is completely self-sufficient.
I just reread Marilyn French’s The Woman’s Room and it has me thinking about Kali.

Invocation to compassion.

My aim, with the awareness cultivated through meditation and yoga practice, is to delight in a way that does not impinge on the delight and health of those with whom and that with which I am in relationship.

I don’t think anyone ever feels better for being told they ought to–whether emotionally or physically. To help someone else or our self to feel or get better, it is far more productive to offer well wishes or offer loving or healing energy or to take action the likely result of which is to improve health or mood.
