Either everyone–including yourself is guru–or noone is. Listen to your own inner wisdom (a little training and practice helps in that regard, at least in my own experience).

If we are stuck sitting for long hours for work, I’m pretty sure we need to try and laugh more often.
I wonder, though; are we likely to laugh more often if we steadily sit long for meditation?
Will what you think of as a source of happiness bring you contentment? Will it expand your and others well-being?

My friend Dan just posted an insightful piece about the sweetly humbling (without diminishing) perspective on the single life or the whole collective human being in the context of the whole universe. It resonated with the passage I had read for group practice last Wednesday from Ramesh Menon’s rendering of the Shiva Puranas, which talks about all the units of time from a nimesha, a human moment, to the life of the highest Siva principle–an immensity of infinite time that is incomprehensible at a human consciousness level.
I was busy enough with work today, that I was able to just concentrate. Later, when I had a chance to read the latest political news and to take a walk in the May-like day with flowers blooming as if it were weeks later in the year and the ground dry from lack of rain while others are being flooded, I found myself anxious and a welter of other emotions besides. I reminded myself to enjoy the beautiful day for what it was and asked myself what more now ought I to do?
